International Salon of Experimental Photography "Window"

Kyiv, Ukraine.

Themes:

1.  Open - up to 4 Photos.

2. Abstraction and Surrealism - up to 4 Photos.

3. Conceptual photography - set up to 8 Photos.

Rules:

The contest is open to all photographers of the world, who agree with its items. The Salon will be organized in compliance with FIAP regulations and standards.  Photographs are accepted digitally (color and / or monochrome) just by uploading to https://window.ukrfoto.org/ The required format of JPEG, 8 BIT, RGB, 300 dpi, with the big side of min. 2600 pixels, max. 8Mb per photo.

(TIF, RAW will not be accepted)

By the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon under FIAP Patronage, the entrant accepts without exception and with no objection that the submitted images can be investigated by FIAP to establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if the entrant is not a member of FIAP;  that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking; that any refusal to cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure to provide sufficient evidence, will be sanctioned by FIAP and that in case of sanctions following the non compliance with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released in any form useful to inform the breaches of the rules. It is recommended to leave the EXIF data in the submitted files intact in order to ease eventual investigations.

The Participation in the Salon means the acceptance of all its rules.

Contest works and copyrights belong only to individuals who sent photographs. Organizers are not liable for participants'  copyrights. The organizers reserve the right to use the best works for further exhibitions and publications as a part of activities related to the contest with preserving copyrights. The best contest photos  for the exhibition will be printed 30x45sm size.

Themes definitions:

Abstract is the art direction which refused approximately to reality image forms. Representatives of this trend replace the concrete form of the image to combination of lines, shapes, color spots. Abstract photography based on image forms, lines and colors on the photo by  using different photographic techniques and technologies. Abstract images allowe minimal processing: brighter, contrast, cropping, image in negative and others which are possible in negative-positive photographic process.

Surrealism is the art direction which is using different combinations of illusions and paradoxical forms. Photographers of this trend create a reality that does not reflect reality, but prompted by subconscious. Characteristics: eclectic, fantasmahorychnist subject, the expression of unconscious fantasies. The processing is allowed to be the same as for the abstract. It is allowed to use a collage.

Conceptual photography. For conceptual photography the concept is more important then physical expression, the aim is to send an ideas. Conceptual art shows the  intellectual understanding of a view, but   not the emotional perception. Photographers try to show an idea or  concept in a picture, inform the viewer about something or tell him a story. Conceptual photography allowe minimal processing: brighter, contrast, cropping, image in negative and others which are possible in negative-positive photographic process  and collage.

Free theme - without restrictions about subject.
